Katta Villayatu Game from India

Katta-Villayatu Game

Supplies: Game boards (pattern below), mini ziptop bags, craft foam in white and orange, single hole punch

How To: Print the game boards on card stock and cut apart.  I printed these on green cardstock so that the colors of the Indian flag would be represented in the swap.  Use a hole punch to make small circles of white and orange craft foam (white represents dimes, orange represents pennies).  Place three circles of each color and the game board in a small zip top bag (these can often be found in the jewlery department).

Background: The game Katta-Villayatu is like an Indian version of tic-tac-toe.  You can learn more about this game at The Hindu, India's national newspaper.

Created For: Thinking Day 2010
